ABOUT ME

My name's Anne Marie and I'm a data scientist and software developer from Dallas, Texas. I've spent the last few years in France teaching at universities, and I just recently moved to Amsterdam. I've spent the last year taking intensive university courses in Data Science, Python and Java to update and renew my skillset, and now I'm looking to bring my software development and data science experience to a team here in the Netherlands. If you would like to connect, please reach out below!

If you're wondering about my programming experience:

Project Lead (Research Assistant) - Bloomberg LP
I led a team of researchers to develop software to visualize the company’s multilingual codebase. As project lead, I further ensured that each developer’s code was standardized and completed for specific deadlines. I published two articles in tech journals and presented our work at international conferences.

Technical Co-ordinator (Legal Department) - AZT Corporation
I developed a macros-run Excel spreadsheet (database-style) to print out specific lease information in a Word document for easy appendage to legal documents. The real-time feedback that I received from the attorneys helped me adapt the program to their needs and workflow, and they still use the software now.

Web Developer (Freelance) - Bogar Law Offices
I worked with a law firm on a freelance basis where I organized their web development and SEO optimization, interfacing with them directly to meet their specific needs.

MEDIA

Divide and Conquer: The Story of Roger Ailes: This documentary follows the rise & fall of Roger Ailes, controversial Fox News mogul & Republican king-maker. One of the most powerful & divisive figures in media, Ailes would go down in flames amid scandal, paranoia, & multiple sexual harassment allegations.
Who Me? Biased? Mini Docuseries: Our subconscious brain makes all sort of quick - and not always fair - decisions about everything, including race. Saleem Reshamwala, one of POV's media makers embedded at The New York Times, looks at research into implicit bias and tangible ways we can improve in a video series.
WNET Uncertain Industries - Garment District: A deep dive into an industry that has been struggling to keep up with the changing economy. This short web doc explores one of many textile companies trying to stay afloat.
FNN - Pickles In Random Places: Julia Casey, FCRH '16, takes a pickle jar with her wherever she goes and asks random people to pose with it for her instagram account - picklesinrandomplaces.
FNN - Manhattan Sideways: Clare Deck, FCRH '16, writes for Manhattan Sideways, a website determined to document all the businesses on the side streets of Manhattan. Clare takes us 'behind the scenes' as she walks the streets, documents the stores, and explains all about Manhattan Sideways.

COMPUTER SCIENCE

MultiLingual Static Analysis (MLSA, pronounced Melissa for convenience) is a tool that analyzes software that is written in multiple languages and in which the languages call each other.
The PAIGE extension of MLSA, which parses through Python Abstract Syntax Trees (AST) using a Context Free Grammar (CFG) written in C++
ICSOFT 2017 - Lightweight Multilingual Software Analysis: A novel lightweight approach to multilingual software analysis: generation of multilingual call graphs to identify language boundary problems.
ICSOFT 2018 - Lightweight Call-Graph Construction for Multilingual Software Analysis: An additional approach to multilingual software analysis: leveraging information from a compiler-generated AST to provide the quality of call graph necessary, while the program itself is written using an Island Grammar that parses the AST providing the lightweight aspect necessary
Password Locker: Safely stores passwords using AES encryption, message authentification and digital signatures.
Bogar Law Offices Website: informational website incorporating RESTful API in PHP, responsiveness to tablets and mobile devices, and SEO techniques
Data Science - Predicting Bank Customers: A Portuguese banking company conducted a marketing campaign (through phone calls) to gain customers. Given the data collected for each client (including demographic information and information on the campaign methods), three different machine learning models were implemented to predict whether or not a potential client would be likely to become a customer at the bank. The models implemented were: Logistic Regression, Decision Tree and Random Forest.
Data Science - COVID-19 ICU Prediction: During the COVID-19 Pandemic, many hospitals around the world were overwhelmed with patients in their intensive care units. This resulted in many patients not being able to receive the care that they needed in a safe amount of time, leading to millions of deaths worldwide. The goal of this project is to design a Machine Learning model to predict which patients will and will not eventually require admission to the ICU. The prediction will allow for hospitals to prepare for incoming patients as well as discharge patients that don't need intensive care earlier on.
